Deputy Sales Manager

(Report in to Sales Manager)
The primary role is to fill up the hotel (rooms + conference/banquet facilities) through team + own market coverage and ensuring the maximum possible business comes to Lemon Tree Hotels. Also, the Deputy Sales Manager will oversee the day to day activities of the sales team and co-ordinate with the SM.
Pre-launch + launch phase (of hotel)

• Together with the Sales manager:
  -   Understand competition and Lemon Tree Hotel's relative position. From this decide pricing
  -   Lead a blitz of the hotel's catchment area including key corporates, conference organizers, travel     agents etc. The objective is to create a ‘business map' of the market i.e. which companies have     business for mid-priced hotels, who do they use currently, price sensitivity etc.

Ongoing

• Together with the Sales Manager, guide, train and lead the sales associates/executives on how to handle their portfolio, cover the market and ensure business comes to Lemon Tree Hotel.
• Handle a portfolio of ~ 200 accounts (varying sizes). The key task is to:
    -   Assess size and nature of business (for value conscious travelers)
    -   Meet with all decision makers and influencers and establish a relationship
    -   Offer special rates depending on volume of business
    -   Service the account on an ongoing basis i.e. get their business
• In addition:
  -   Market knowledge - competition (existing and new), changing business environment, changing       infrastructure
  -   Product development ideas - based on   customer feedback and industry trends, provide inputs        to Operations

Prior work experience: A graduate with 3-5 years of sales experience. Experience in a 4-5 star hotel or travel trade preferred.
